Data Mining is the nontrivial is the search for valuable information in large volume of data. Data Mining is the search for ideas. The importance here for any mining is not the mining but the discovery of the idea-hopefully a novel idea, a new insight. Mind you, there is not any Data Mining tool that is going to put human creativity out of business! The computer with an associate program may discover associations, patterns, regularities, and interactions in data, but it takes humans to recognize them, to determine their worth, to decide if or how to use them and to implement them into the real world!
